Wrinkle Relaxering Injections
Nasalis muscle
Nose scrunches can be preexisting or can start to increase as the body’s compensation to having frown and crows-feet treatment. Bunny lines or nasal scrunch wrinkles can be a give away that other areas are treat, and when treated they can add balance to the upper face treatments.
Glabella complex muscle
One of the most treated area in the aesthetic industry is the frown region. This muscle is called the glabella - and when treated nicely hardly anyone will notice. Frown lines have been associated with people looking angry, or worried. When treated with wrinkle relaxing injections the muscle can help elevates this expression as well as giving some clients the relief of a brow lift.
Frontalis muscle
Your forehead muscles move your eyebrows up and out of your eyes, unfortunately leaving horizontal lines. Forehead lines are a notoriously hard area to treat, as some clients can be left feeling heavy or ‘flat’ in the brow. When done nicely (which can take several treatments and reviews) the lines should have slowly settled and balanced whilst still being able to lift your eyebrows up.
Masseters
The masseter muscles can become overdeveloped in some people leading to possible over-grinding and over-clenching of the back teeth. This can lead to a myriad for dental and health issues when left untreated. With a select dose of wrinkle relaxing injections this can help soften the area, leading to a decrease in grinding/clenching, while still maintaining the natural shape of the face.
Platysma muscle
Some people have an over usage of the neck muscles, known as the platysma bands. Platysma bands can age the jowls, lower face, and neck by pulling downward. The "Nefertiti lift" is a procedure that involves wrinkle relaxing injections into the neck muscles to balance and soften the bottom portion of the face. In some cases it can cause a nice tightening result, increasing the acuity of the jawline.
Orbicularis Oculi muscle
When squinting and squeezing the eye muscle the outer corners of the eyes wrinkle can cause fine lines and wrinkles (see above photo). Small amount of wrinkle relaxing injections to the area can soften the lines, whilst maintain natural eye movement. Strategically placed injections can also open and lift the brow. When treating crowsfeet it is important not to over treat the under eye area - this area is best left for filler and/or dermal treatments
Orbicularis Oculi muscle lift
Brow lift can be achieved in several ways, either by treating the brow or the crowsfeet - or even both together. It is important to assess the face prior to getting a brow lift, and unfortunately some people can not achieve a great result, ie they don’t have the strength in the brow to lift. It is also important to lift the right areas - making sure you look fresh, not surprised!
Orbicularis Oris
When you pucker your lips, vertical lines in the skin can be seen above the upper lip and surrounding the mouth. These lines are frequently brought on by lose of collagen often associated with peri-menopause and menopause. Small lines around the mouth might affect wearing cosmetics like lipstick, smoothing lip lines with anti-wrinkle injections can result in a more rejuvenated lip area - and this treatment can often achieve a little bit of a lip lift.
